Kathmandu, June 5: Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ) has awarded this year’s environmental journalism award to Rajesh Ghimire of Chitwan. Ghimire works for Setopati news portal and Kayakairan.

NEFEJ has been marking the World Environment Day by announcing the environmental journalism award since more than 30 years.

Ghimire has been chosen on the basis of his reporting on environmental issues in the year 2020, on the basis of diverse issues, facts and figures, people’s concerns, language and innovative news stories.

Ghimire was chosen by a jury headed by former NEFEJ president Laxman Upreti and members Rajesh Ghimire, former general secretary, and expert member Manjeet Dhakal.

Ghimire is the 34th journalist to bag this award. He will be awarded during the general assembly of the organization.
