NEFEJ concludes field visit for Evidence-based Media Advocacy

A field visit was carried out by NEFEJ team starting from 17th September 2020 to 8th October 2020. The field visit was carried out under the “Evidence Based Media Advocacy on Biodiversity Conservation, and Sustainable Development” project in association with Hariyo Ban Program Phase II- WWF Nepal.

A team including video production crew, senior environment journalists and local journalists jointly visited different districts all over the country. The team visited plains and hilly areas from five province; Bara, Chitwan, Nawalparashi, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, Kaski and Lamjung. The field visit continued for a period of 22 days. NEFEJ will prepare different media outreach materials based on the information collected and interviews taken during the field visit. The local journalists have prepared more than 15 reports after the field visit. The reports are based on the different environmental issues and good practices that they witnessed during site visit. Likewise, four media based research will also be prepared and four video documentaries will be produced. Senior environment journalists Sabin Sharma and Rajesh Ghimire along with experts Rajan Subedi, Arjun Dhakal and Roshan Sherchan have been working to produce the media based research. Similarly, Gopal Jang Thapa- Aankhijhyal Reporter, has been working to produce the video reports highlighting the good practices and environmental issues witnessed during the field visit.

After the completion of the media-based research reports, NEFEJ will share them with the relevant stakeholders. The four video reports produced will be broadcast through Aankhijhyal video magazine. And radio debate programs will be produced being based on the media-based research reports.
