20th December, 2019Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ) recently organized a Share Fair Event and Graduation Ceremony in Nagarkot so as to provide a platform for the Advance Summer School fellows to share their experiences, challenges and opportunities while carrying out investigative stories on environment and climate change issues. Similarly, the event was organized so as to encourage the journalists to carry out investigative and in-depth reporting on environmental issues in the future as well.

NEFEJ has been organizing Advance Summer School programs every year since 2017 so as to develop the skills of the local journalists to carry out investigative and in-depth reporting. As a part of the Advance Summer School Programs, NEFEJ provided fellowship to a total of 27 local journalists so as to support them financially to carry out the news stories.  Realizing the lack of environmental reporting in Nepal, NEFEJ designed Advance Summer School so as to develop the skills of the local journalists to carry out investigative stories especially relating to environmental issues.

Concluding the event, NEFEJ awarded Graduation Certificates to seven journalists; four male and three female journalists, who had received fellowship in the year 2019 through the Advance Summer School Program.  The fellow journalists then made commitments to follow the stories that they had carried out previously with the help of their mentors and NEFEJ.
