Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists conducted its 32nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 13th October 2017 under the presidency of Arjun Dhakal. General Secretary Ramesh Bhushal presented annual report to the gathering outlining the achievements in the past one year with next year's plan. Members Jyoti Baniya, Chandra Shekhar Karki and Nimesh Regmi commented on the report with their suggestions. The AGM approved the report unanimously. Likewise, financial report for the Fiscal Year 2073/74 was presented by Somnath Lamichhane – Treasurer. Account Committee member Ambika Rajthala presented the committee's report which was then discussed by the gathering. With minor amendments in the language the report was approved by the AGM.
This year's environmental journalism award was awarded to Pragati Dhakal, reporter from Karobar . The award is announced by the forum every year on World Environment Day, June 5 and awarded to the recipient on the AGM held every year. Rajendra Dahal, Senior journalist and honorary member of NEFEJ awarded Dhakal with a certificate and cheque of NPR 25,000.
Speaking at the ceremony Mr. Dahal said such award encourages early career journalists to dig out more on environmental issues and congratulated Dhakal for her achievements.
